Dr. Champ's December 2017 Newsletter
Dear Pelham Community,
My first five months in Pelham have been a wonderful whirlwind of events! I have had the pleasure of spending time in classrooms, at student events, at community events and Town Halls, and getting to know our facilities inside and out (including a tour of the PMS roof!). Throughout all of these experiences I have learned much about the history and values of our district and community. And one message has been very clear - our schools are the heart of our community.
Our neighborhood school model and our commitment to small class sizes have fostered strong connections between staff, students, and parents that aren’t always present in other communities. Our commitment to meet the needs of the whole child is resulting in well-rounded, bright, talented, and caring students. Our community’s commitment to service, both within and outside the school, has developed students and staff that recognize how fortunate we are and our subsequent responsibility to give and help others in whatever way we can. These qualities are key components of what makes Pelham such a special place.
As we approach the end of the year and look forward to time away from school, I want to offer a few wishes for each of you. “During this holiday season, may you be blessed with the spirit of the season, which is peace, the gladness of the season, which is hope, and the heart of the season, which is love.” Rest, relax, and enjoy family and friends to the fullest.
With Warm Regards,
Dr. Cheryl Champ
