Diverse teaching strategies, a continuously improving and updated
curriculum, the integrated use of technology in the classroom, numerous support
systems, a wide range of enrichment programs, and award-winning extracurricular
activities in performing arts, sports, and academic areas, all reflect Pelham's
emphasis on the whole child.
Over 90% of our faculty have at least a Master's degree. Teachers
keep at the forefront of educational reform through participation in
professional development programs and membership in numerous regional and
national organizations. The rich and seasoned experience of our teachers,
however, results in a balanced classroom approach that combines the best of
tradition and innovation.
It is often said that people move to Pelham for the schools. This
results in strong community support for our students which is exemplified in
family education programs sponsored by a PTA subcommittee called PACT (Parents
and Community Together); many projects funded by The Pelham Education Foundation;
and an exemplary high school career program hosted by the Pelham Civics
Association.
