INTRODUCTION:
pelhamschools.org is the online site for the Pelham Union Free School District in Pelham, New York.  Powered by eChalk, pelhamschools.org consists of
seven separate websites.  These websites allow anyone with Internet access to view relevant news, information and an online calendar of school related events.

Q. What kind of information will I find on Pelham Schools’ websites?

A. Our websites are works in progress that are still evolving. Open this brochure for an overview of our homepages. Spend some time exploring the various folders to acquaint yourself with the type and location of available resources. Send us your suggestions (acox@pelhamschools.org) for improving our sites.
 

Q. Do I need a username and password?

A. Anyone can access the folders listed on the homepages. A username and password will give you access to your child’s online classroom, your own email account, internet file storage and eventually the secure sharing of school-based happenings.
 

Q. Where can I get a username and password?

A. You can either use your child’s (as is recommended for elementary parents) or, for a nominal fee (eChalk is currently charging $5.00), obtain your own by emailing a request to acox@pelhamschools.org . Please note that the eChalk system requires a separate username for each school.
 

Q. What happens if my child or I have a technical problem or lose our login info?

A. Technical assistance is available by contacting our site manager at eganbaum@pelhamschools.org .
 

Q. What are online classrooms?

A. Online classrooms are webpages where teachers can post announcements, homework, events, online discussions and resources such as weblinks and handouts.
 

Q. Does every teacher make use of their online classroom and email?

A. It is the District's philosophy that home-school communication is critical to the success of our students. This communication is fostered through a variety of ways such as conferences, interim notices, report cards, newsletters, and phone calls as well as eChalk. Relying on eChalk depends on many factors including a teacher's access to computers, level of training, comfort with technology, personal style, needs, and goals. While we are encouraging the use of eChalk, it is important to recognize that no single means of communication or instruction can be relied on exclusively.
 

Q. What if my family doesn’t have Internet access at home?

A. eChalk provides instructional resources and opportunities for communication, but does not replace traditional means. Internet access is, however, available after school at the Pelham Public Library and, for students in grades 6-12, at the PMHS Information Center. Please contact your principal with any concerns.

First Time Instructions

Logging onto a site requires a user name and password.  You can either use your child's or if you purchased your own account, you should have received membership information.   If not, contact acox@pelhamschools.org


 

To logon, be sure you are at your school's site.  If you are at the District site or another school site, your username will not work. 

In the upper right corner type in your "username" and "password" (the password supplied by the District is temporary and will only be used this one time).

 Click the "Login" button.


 

The next screen is the district's Acceptable Use Policy for technology.  It must be reviewed and accepted before continuing.


 

You are now asked to type in a new password into two separate fields.  Use this password to login to the school's site from now on...


 

All information you are asked to supply on this page is optional.

In Step 1 be sure that the names of your children are correct.  If they are not, please notify our site manager.

In Step 2 you may choose a preset question to assist you with a forgotten password.  You may also state other contact information.


 

You are now at the classroom listing.  This will be the first page you see at future logins.  You may view classroom content by clicking on their titles.
