Childcare for First Responders and Healthcare Workers

Childcare for First Responders and Healthcare Workers
Dr. Champ

In accordance with updated guidance about the New York State and Westchester County states of emergency, the Pelham Public Schools is collecting information about the childcare needs for the children of essential health care workers and first responders who live in our community.

Essential health care workers include licensed health professionals such as physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered nurses, LPNs, nurse assistants or laboratory personnel. First responders include paramedics, emergency medical technicians, firefighters. police officers, and other public safety personnel.

This childcare will be available for infants through school-aged children, each weekday from 6:30am to 7:30pm (including spring break). Please note that based on qualifying requests, this service will be provided through the White Plains YMCA with the full cost being covered by the Pelham Public Schools.

If you are a Pelham parent/guardian and you are an essential health care worker or first responder as listed above and need childcare, please send an email to Julia Chung, Assistant Superintendent for Pupil Personnel Services for prior approval.
