March 31 COVID-19 Update

Dr. Champ

Dear Pelham Parents and Community Members,

We hope that all parents have had a chance to review the new K-5 and Gr. 6-12 Distance Learning schedules in advance of tomorrow's transition to the new model. While the use of Google Classroom should be familiar for our middle and high school students, we understand that there is likely to be a learning curve for our elementary families. If you have not already done so, I encourage you to watch the video and read the directions created by John Sebalos, Director of Technology. All of this information, as well as links to access the daily schedule and Google Classroom, is available on the District's Distance Learning Website. Please work with your child(ren)'s teachers to resolve any technical issues you may encounter. We look forward to seeing this phase of learning go into action and again ask for patience through the bumps that will inevitably occur.

As a reminder, the Board of Education will meet tomorrow night via videoconference. This meeting will include updates about the preliminary 2020-21 budget and the status of the capital improvement bond projects. Please see the full meeting notice for more information

I want to close tonight by again thanking our teachers and administrators for their incredible hard work developing quality lessons and meaningful activities and learning assignments for our students. I would also like to extend this gratitude to our parents and students who are collaborating with us in ways that we never would have thought necessary just three weeks ago. Our buildings may be closed, but school is most certainly open.
