Proposition 1 - $52,900,000
New Hutchinson School to address accessibility, safety and security, projected enrollment, and infrastructure
The Board identified a number of issues with the current Hutchinson School and considered a total of 8 options for the building. The decision to build a new school was made following a Decision Analysis process that weighed criteria related to capacity, disruption to the learning process during construction, supporting our educational program, safety, preserving flexibility for new programming in future years, predictability during construction, fiscal stewardship, value added to the community, and life quality features.
Renovation at PMHS/PMS to provide 6 additional classrooms, orchestra rehearsal and storage rooms, science lab and research room upgrades
Two enrollment and capacity studies show that PMS and PMHS are currently functioning over capacity and are also projected to continue to grow in enrollment. This project will provide greater flexibility in scheduling at both schools by adding to the total number of available rooms and providing upgraded science rooms.
Security & ADA accessibility upgrades at Prospect Hill School including a double-door security vestibule, new elevator, and bathroom upgrades
Creation of a double-door security vestibule will bring Prospect Hill in line with safety and security features already in place at the other elementary schools. The ADA upgrades will make Prospect Hill School fully accessible.
Replacement of 1964 roof and parapets on the PMHS Annex, and masonry repointing on PMS
This project would address water intrusion and leakage into the PMHS Annex and masonry issues on the Middle School.
Estimated Annual Tax Impact: $79 per $100,000 assessed home value (full impact anticipated to be phased in by 2022-23 school year; estimated tax impacts based on 2017-18 base proportions and assessment roll)
Proposition 2 - $4,624,892
Turfing of Glover baseball/practice fields (Varsity, A, and B)
The fields at Glover are heavily used by our student-athletes and our entire community. Installing synthetic turf on the baseball fields would allow for more frequent use and an extended playing season. A turf field would also include improved drainage, allowing it to be used in inclement weather.
Tennis Court replacement at Glover Complex
Replacing the tennis courts at Glover would address cracking and uneven surfaces that have occurred over the years.
Irrigation and renovation of Prospect Hill field
This project would improve drainage and usability at Prospect Hill field.
Estimated Annual Tax Impact: $7 per $100,000 assessed home value (full impact anticipated to be phased in by 2022-23 school year; estimated tax impacts based on 2017-18 base proportions and assessment roll)
A conceptual rendering of the turf field proposed for the Glover Complex on the Varsity, A, and B baseball/practice fields.
